For what its worth Pujols still has an impressive exit velocity on line drives and fly balls, however overall his average exit velocity is well….average.

Given his low strikeout rate he might as well capitalize on his approach and start swinging more and thus trying for more power, however the problem here is since his swing rate outside the zone is going up and his miss rate inside the zone is as well, this approach has a high chance of failure.

Note: The Boston Red Sox might have a Royals like advantage in the playoffs due to their speed. Bradley, Benintendi, Bogaerts, Betts, Davis, and Nunez are all well above average base runners. However the team may have problems with hitting as Betts, Benintendi, Bradley, Bogaerts, Pedroia, Hanley have all had down offensive years for what can be expected from them. They really need to upgrade at 1B, OF, and SP this winter if they are gonna keep pace with the surging Yankees.

1. Astros [Due to the Verlander addition and the depth of the lineup and bench, this looks like the 1990s Yankees.]

2. Dodgers [They were the easy pick but after the losing streak they have lost the top spot.]

3. Indians [Win streak.]

4. Cubs [Slowly but surely coming back to the juggernaut they were last year.]

5. Red Sox [Fading but intriguing speed, pitching defense combo could play well in the playoffs.]

6. Yankees [If healthy they could win it all, they have everything needed.]

Jorge Mateo after what he has done in AA for both the Yankees and the Athletics may be one of the most underrated players in all of the minor leagues. It is a crime he is not on MLB’s top 100 prospects. His overall toolset is comparable with Victor Robles and Orlando Arcia in terms of well roundedness. 55 hit tool, 45 power, 80 speed, 60 arm, and at this point 70 fielding if he’s an OF, 60 if he’s a SS. He hit this in AA for the Yankees this year: 30 games, 120 at bats, 4 home runs, 11 stolen bases, .225 ISO, 22.9% K rate, 10.7% BB rate, .300/.381/.525, wRC+ 147. And for the AA Athletics? 30 games, 137 at bats, 4 home runs, 13 stolen bases, .226 ISO, 22.4% K rate, 6.1% BB rate, .292/.333/.518, wRC+ 133.

In this total season he has played in 129 games, had 12 homers, and 52 stolen bases.

If Giancarlo Stanton is traded, he will be probably be going to the LA Dodgers the way things stand now. They have the prospects and MLB players to get it done and type of payroll to be able to cover such an expensive contract. Dodgers are losing a ton off their payroll over the next three years and have way too lefty a lineup. Puig, Turner, and Forsythe as the only righties [Barnes too but Grandal is in the picture].
